Top 5 Maps and Navigation Apps in Colombia: Q1 2024

Throughout the first quarter of 2024, the performance of the leading Maps and Navigation applications in Colombia varied significantly. Below, we analyze the trends in weekly downloads, active users, and revenue for the top 5 apps in this category, based on data from Sensor Tower.

inDrive. Save on city rides experienced fluctuating weekly downloads, starting the quarter strong with approximately 76K downloads in the first week of January. Downloads dipped to around 65K in the second week but rebounded to peak at nearly 88K by the end of January. Active users also saw a notable rise, starting from 2.5M and peaking at over 3.1M by mid-March.

DiDi Rider: Affordable rides maintained consistent weekly downloads, with numbers hovering around 50K to 65K throughout the quarter. Active users showed a steady increase, starting at 1.2M and reaching a high of 1.5M by mid-March before dropping slightly towards the end of the quarter.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic had a stable performance in terms of weekly downloads, which ranged between 47K and 60K. Active users remained relatively constant, starting at around 800K and seeing slight fluctuations, with a peak of 828K in mid-March.

Yango — different from a taxi showed significant growth in weekly downloads, increasing from approximately 8K in early January to over 80K by the end of March. Active users mirrored this trend, growing from 30K to over 140K within the same period.

Uber - Request a ride also demonstrated steady weekly downloads, starting at around 33K and maintaining similar levels throughout the quarter. Active users increased from 950K in early January to a peak of nearly 1.3M by mid-March, before settling back to around 1.1M towards the end of the quarter.
